2-Factor Authentication (2FA) is an additional layer of security used to ensure that people trying to gain access to a user's account are who they say they are. This helps protect against unauthorized access, and enhances the security of the user’s account. Users can enable and disable 2FA themselves at any time in the “Security information” section of their settings page and toggling the switch under “Two-Factor Authentication”.
If the user needs assistance with disabling the 2FA, we can do so using the red “Disable 2FA“ button in the Admin Toolbar. First, you’ll have to verify the user by asking the user to confirm:
Date of birth
Username associated with the account
Date and amount of the last transaction (if Premium member)
If they prefer, they can also provide a Government issued photo Identification to verify their account ownership. We will only need to see the name and the photo on the ID, everything else can be blurred.
